Inspired by the logo of the milanese artist Fiuto Rama, this wall bookshelf transforms a three-dimensional eyes, nose and mouth, assigning to each of their different characteristics, aesthetic or functional. The eyes are a strong visual appeal, with the pupils who seem free to twirl, while cutting the nose cleave the wood round face like a pointed blade. These are the teeth that eventually materialize in the real bookcase where the top acts as a coin tray or small shelf. The irregularity (and irreverence) of the teeth corresponds to a way of “light-hearted” to store the books, so as to make the whole dynamic.
Materials: lightweight MDF, veneered in walnut Canaletto painted.
Designed for the Fuorisalone: “Non solo design. Oggetti d’arte e oltre” during the Milano design week, 2014.
